The Glow

For those that don't know me, I'll let you in on a little secret. I do not do pregnancy well. I was revolting. I was uncomfortable. I was huge. I fainted all the time (you know, cause I like a bit of drama!)

Then there are women like Tara. She has the whole "earth-mother" glow thing going on, she looks so fantastic and just radiates good health! We had such a fun session, you can tell these guys can't wait for another gorgeous bub to join them!

Planes and Trains

okay...so there weren't any trains...but I have trouble coming up with titles sometimes, okay?!

Yesterday on the way home from kindy, Isaac was asking when he was going to get to go for a fly again with Grandad - and Declan, of course! (note: Declan is the son of friends of ours, Bruce and Gill and is Isaac's hero and main reason for living).

He asked if we could go and look at the planes for a minute anyway so I said okay...then low and behold the ccamera was still in the car from earlier in the day!! Fancy that!!!

There's an old Cessna (?? I think, Dad may correct me!) at one end of the field that I have always thought would look pretty cool in some photos so I got my chance. We sat there as the sun went down and Isaac was fascinated by a couple of planes coming in to land.
I have proofed these with Isaac sitting on my lap newly fascinated by his own image :-)

One beautiful family...

The divine William and his doting mummy and daddy, Kara and Dan.

Guys, thanks so much for having me waste :-) your day away taking pictures of your beautiful boy. I can't think of many nicer ways to spend an afternoon!

I got a lovely cuddle from William too while we were trying to covince him that sleep really WAS good idea :-)

Trampoline Addict

I have so many photos of Cassidy on various trampolines lately.

Most of our friends have one and whenever we go "visiting" as the kids say, she is right on there and there she stays. She just loves it. She was so funny today at Nick and Dan's party, watching the bigger kids do some trickier moves, and before I knew it she was giving me heart palpitations doing sit-down jumps...you know the ones where they jump then cross their legs and land on their bottom. Now unfortunatley my sweet girl follows her mother in her lack of co-ordination ability :-) so I was rather nervous as she practiced her new skill.

It's lucky she's cute...as this morning when Steve came downstairs to make breakfast, she had taken Isaac's wet pull-up and thrown it around the lounge room until it broke and all the little wee-absorbing gel crystals and cotton wool stuff were EVERYWHERE. It was one of those messes you look at and think that your house will never be the same again, intermingling with thoughts of Sundays gone by where we slept in and then leisurely had our tea and toast without having to yell "I'm going to count to three....."

The Boys are One!

Those tiny, helpless little bubs in the humidcribs are no more! Although it seems like the other day we were peering through glass in special care to see Nicholas and Daniel, it was one whole year and look at them now!

I think the first year of life is so incredible...I mean no wonder babies get tired and cranky....look how much they have to grow and accomplish in their first year.

They had a great time opening presents, or rather eating the wrapping paper :-) and then had a lovely nap (I think most adults present were most jealous of that fact). I've always thought first birthdays were definately a celebration for the parents more than the kids, I mean if you make it through the first year sane then that's certainly something to celebrate....and with twins? Well, here's to you guys. I've always said God picks the right people to have twins, and he sure did that with you xx

Vegemite Kid

What does one do when one is putting off doing other jobs?

One takes a under exposed, grainy photo and wastes time in photoshop :-)

Maybe life's not too bad...

...he brightened up a bit when afternoon tea was announced!

(see previous post)

Melancholy Boy

The kids haven't been to well this past week with the usual colds and coughs. Nothing too bad, Cassidy rages on as normal but Isaac (like most men!) doesn't cope too well with being sick and puts on a bit of an act. Mum and I call it his "melancholy" look, and he pulls it off so well! We just don't understand what it is to be four and have the weight of the world on your shoulders....

Looks are deceiving....

This is not a sweet little girl in a pink skirt with a puppy.

This is a scheming mastermind at work.

Yesterday morning I was doing the usual whip-round , tidying and making beds when I saw a large yellow crayon scribble on the floorboards. We called the kids in and the dialogue was as follows...
Steve: Who did this?

Both kids: (pointing at each other) Isaac/Cassidy did.

A few more leading questions later and once Cassidy realised she was going down in a ball of flames...

Steve: So did you do this Cassidy?

Cassidy: No, Jaz (the cat) did it.

Steve: (smirking) Oh really? Well how did she hold the crayon?

Cassidy: (not flinching, eyes never leaving Steve's face) She just held it in her claws.

I lost it at this point and had to leave the room while Steve tried to keep his fatherly-discipline voice steady. She was so un-flinching in the face of wrath, not worried in the slightest that her lie wasn't going to hold up in court. It's so hard to be a parent when you know you should discipline for lying, but if you had been there and seen that little face - you would understand!

Phase two...

This morning she told Steve that she had "called Mummy to help me with my pants but she didn't come, and that just drives me nuts". Word for word.
